I recently graduated from SUNY Cortland with a B.S. in Childhood Education. I have my NYS initial teaching certificate in Childhood Education (grades 1-6) and I am currently working toward my M.S. in English as a Second Language. When I am finished with my M.S. I will be certified to teach ESL (grade k-12). I have worked as a private tutor of Korean students of various ages for 2 years which is what made me realize I wanted to be a ESL teacher. I have also supervised a summer arts and crafts program for 2 summers. In addition, I student taught in a 3rd grade inclusive classroom and 6th grade Social Studies with 5 sections. Therefore, I have a variety of teaching experiences with diverse students of many ages and academic levels. I am currently working at Kay Jewelers as a sales associate. Although it is not in the teaching field I have learned a lot about working in a professional environment and meeting standards on a daily basis. In the future I plan on substitute teaching to gain more teaching experience and widen my knowledge of different classrooms, teaching environments, and classroom management. |

I am originally from a small town outside of Binghamton,
NY however, I now reside in the Town of Endwell which is part of the
Binghamton area. I love the variety and conveince of the city
however, I miss the quiet country-side I grew up in. Therefore,
my fiance and I plan on moving back to the country some day. I would
like to work in either an urban or rural environment. My hobbies are sewing, yoga, karate, drawing, hiking, and doing just about anything with my dog, Onyx. Check out my Myspace profile for more of my personal background. |
